TRAIL RACES
Thank you to Northumbrian Water
for providing bottled water for the races.

The Tees Forest trail races series is held on local countryside sites across the Tees Valley which aim not only to highlight the venues but to promote healthy outdoor exercise.

Now in its seventh year the trail race series run in partnership with North York Moors Athletics Club, the 5 kilometre races have proved to be a great success attracting a total record of 780 runners in 2007, with a total of 147 runners turning out for the event at Summerhill. The races take place on woodland or grass tracks at a variety of countryside sites around The Tees Forest.
The races are open to anyone 15 years of age or over and attract a wider variety of different ability runners and are always supportive of encouraging novice or less experienced runners to participate to promote active lifestyles. Thus they can be viewed as a form of ‘green exercise’ as outdoor activity taken on aregular basis.
It would not be possible to run the series without the help of local authority countryside staff and a dedicated band of volunteers from the running clubs and sites. All money raised goes to support the work of The Tees Forest in developing accessible community spaces and infrastructure for all to enjoy.
